wastegate spring compatibility

I have a 45mm HKS racing wastegate and was wondering if I would be able to use their standard wastegate springs in it? I tried to call HKS USA but they are closed till May 6 for inventory. If anyone knows, I would really appreciate it.

Yes the standard wastegate springs can be used in the Hks racing unit. I currently have a 5.7# spring in my racing wastegate. Although I wouldn't recommend going that light, mine will open at higher rpm at around 0psi or vac. I have a 9.7# on the way to help with that problem.

The "10" spring that came with my wastegate originally had the yellow 10# spring, but it didn't open untill ~14-16psi.

So YES is the awnser.

Thank you for the info Matlock! I am going to purchase the 5 and 10 lb springs, and plan on keeping the 10psi spring in the gate all the time. The 5psi is just for initial boost tuning.
My gate was supplied with my manifold and came with the 14.7 lb spring in it. way too much for tuning, IMO.
What boost controller are you using?

I am using a profec b spec 2. The 5 pound is really nice in terms of turning up the boost and control, but the exhaust pressure atleast for me forces it open at around 5k and different times when manifold pressure is around 0. Anything after that (once into boost) it stays closed nicely though.
