Wastegate Diaphram tear????

I have 2 of them going on my system. Both are brand new and only have been test fitted. After careful inspection, we found a small tear on both of the wastegates where the banjo fittings screw into on the side. It seems that the banjo fitting provided was too long. Can anyone tell me if this is still ok to use? Please refer to picture. Thanks.

It's ruined, you'll need a new diaphram.

You should be able to find diaphrams seperately, but you will not be happy with the price. Mine was $230 about 2 years back. Hopefully, prices have not gone up on them. Also, You may be able to use a diaphram from another vendor, like HKS. From what I have been told, they are made in the same factory. My wastegate was a blitz, and the parts were all interchangeable with the HKS product. Best of luck to you.

If anyone else has this wastegate, check it next time you take it apart. I used the banjo fittings provided by Tial. I'm wondering if they changed anything.

If they sold the wastegate with the banjo bolts that tore your diaphragm... I'd try to get a refund for a mis-engineered product. It shouldn't be your problem if this is the case.

I'm talking to them right now. They're telling me I didn't put the crush washers on. I never specified that I didn't put the crushers on because I did. I didn' teven torque them down. I'm just test fitting things right now. Why would I torque them down????
