wastegate/boost creep issues on dyno only
wastegate/boost creep issues on dyno only
Okay, some background: My turbo is an ITS (garrett basically I'm told) T4, im unsure of the A/R, but its definitely smaller. (.86 maybe?). I'm using the knock off of the HKS cast mani, the stainless one. i bought the turbo/wastegate/manifold/intake/downpipe all together for a good deal so thats why i have this not so awesome manifold and this unknown turbo. Anyways, the previous owner was using a 30MM WASTEGATE!
! so yeah, i got MADDD boost creep but that made sense. since then i got a TIAL 44mm gate, used the v-band adapter to bolt it to the manifold. It came with an 8.7psi spring, but on the dyno it spiked all the way up to 17psi. On the street however, it only hits 10-11. Since im using the nipple off the intake manifold instead of the compressor housing, I've been told it will run 2psi over the spring, which would be right around 11. So my question is, what could cause it to creep so bad on the dyno but not on the street? the dyno was a dynapack dyno which loads the crap out the car and sloooowly takes it through RPM range. could this slow loading cause all the creep?
