waste gate issue

waste gate issue

well i have a t11 with haltech,t70 turbo tial bov,and tial wastegate..my question is i had the down pipe welded and now its still load.. is it suppose to be open like that.. well i turned the car off and check the wastgate and its not stuck open... it only does it when the cars running is that normal

so when you turn the car on the wastegate comes open? If this is the case then no that is not right. Your wastegate should only be open when it reaches the spring rate or whatever boost level you have it set to on your boost controller. I would look at how you have the wastegate hooked up.

Almost sounds as if there isnt a spring in the diaphragm.

ya thats correct. when i start it comes open and sounds like open header.. ive searched and searched but cant find anything on it.. do any of you guys have an idea how it hooks up.. do i need to take the wastegate apart and see whats wrong with it.. im so used to having a internal wastgate with my hybrid turbo...

Well I took off the wastegate and it does have a spring in it. The valve isn't shut all the way but u can barley c it.. I mean I can shuv a pieace a paper through it.. so its not closed All the way if u know what I mean .. is this normal

or vaccum sucking from top probably it has to be that. disconnect the hoses and chek it out if not then make sure that wastegate has the ring on if is one of those

yeah you need the valve seat, it keeps the wastegate from leaking at the flange

what does this look like is there any photos or write up about this... do any of you guys have any photos.. well when i took it apart all there was is a spring and the cap thats it. didnt c any ring
