that car ended up getting a little more fine tuning, but you can see the general slope going in the downward direction.

fyi, it wouldn't hold boost, so that's what the up n down "rainbow: torque curve was all about.

Did anyone else notice how poor this car's fuel was tuned?

what was poor about it?
the dip around peak torque wasn't so severe when it was done, but we were also fighting intake temps the whole time.

why don't you post your idea of a good one?

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like such a dick. Can you post your finished dyno chart? You do not need to increase a/f ratio with rpm's... Your fuel map was ok up to peak torque at wich point it should have leveled out . Your fuel map should resemble your torque curve, peak torque directly corilates with peak cylinder pressures at wich point you need to have the richest a/f ratio's to control heat inside the combustion chamber. As the volumetric efficency begins to fall off above that point there is no need for added fuel. If you were fighting intake temps I can understand keeping your rich a/f's but it didn't need to dive of the map. I think that if you solve you intake heat problems you could really flatten out your torque curve by taking away fuel above peak torque instead of having it climb with rpm's...

oh, i get what you're after. i like running it rich around peak torque and up top, but the whole downward slope thing was more of an air temp thing. if you're talking about that last little nosedive, i didn't have the decel fuel cut turned on, and i think i didn't let off the gas fast enough. it doesn't actually dive like that up top when you're on it--just right when you let off.

i think he's gonna sell that car, but if he doesn't, we'll get a real intercooler or water injection--y'know....whatever it takes. intake temps got upwards of 200* in that session, but i can't remember where they were, exactly on that run i just remember they shot up like a rocket.

but the car wouldn't hold boost either... right where it made torque, if you'll notice, it doesn't flatten out--just flips a u-turn. that's right at the point where the boost started falling off.
