Want a Bigger turbo!

I have a 1986 FC, with a jspec t2 swap with a street port. I want to put the GT3574 kit on from aspectuning, but I am new to rotary and have no idea what else I need to build up. I have a walbro fuel pump and the whole turbo rear end and what not. My goal is to have a decent amount of HP to drift. I have searched the forums but cant find any clear answers...

Thanks in advance
Dylan

First off, how much HP is enough to drift? Some people drift N/A's with considerably less, so how much power are you hoping to push? That's going to dictate a lot in your build.

The car is for drifting, but I would like a good amount of power. Something to achieve 400whp, this kit is said to get 400whp with stock ports... I just dont know what else needs to be built.

You will need to address fueling (pump and injectors minimum), intercooler, and for drifting likely cooling system. You will need some kind of engine management system for that turbo, and with that a proper tune. At this point, I would definitely recommend finding a professional tuner, and see what they recommend for your goals.

I appreciate your replies to help a newbie like me, but that's all the answer I can find is pump and injectors... Nothing internally will need to be upgraded?

like? you mean like some forged rotors, and roller rocker apex seals

maybe an upgraded oil pressure regulator to get up to 85+ psi.

Rotaries for the most part are as tough as their tune. No matter what you build the internals with, if you detonate badly enough you will break stuff, plain and simple. I wouldn't tear into the motor until you break something.

Good to know, that answers my question. So around that much HP would you say injectors/pump/lines should do the trick or what? I do want it somewhat reliable.

Also im new to all of this as i stated before... what are the studs for? i see them in high power motors

studs, or pinning usually falls in the 500+ club, which i was once told is about twice the money to get to, compared to 400, which is really a breeze. you need to do some searching and reading other people builds and dyno's. then ask questions.. come back, 1 month. thank you.
