wanna learn more about knocking
i just red a few older posts and i red often that knocking is the #1 apex killer.
basicly i know what knocking is: when the gas-mixture ignits rather than because of the spark from the spark plug it's called knocking.
could you guys tell me more about it? how i can avoid that and experiences you made? here the pump gas has 92 - 98 octane.
thanks in advance for every reply

The best thing to do is to read a few books on internal combustion motors. On Steve's "Lightning in the World of Thunder" site he has a FAQ section and it has a decent writeup on gasoline and how it works in IC motors.
The link to his site is on my site under links (yes, I am to lazy to look it up to post it).

Hello David,
To save your engine you need a J&S Knock Sensor which retards your ignition when it hears knocking. Our gas in Malta (small island in Europe) is only 92 so I use a J&S and Octane Booster additive.
