I'm going to be building my my own carb hat for my 47 OER basically the same as a DCOE weber. Should I leave the Velocity stacks on the carb inside the carb hat? Will they slow the airflow under higher boost, or will they help keep it flowing properly?
Thanks Guys!

A LOT of turbo inlet manifolds have these as standard inside the plenum.
Ford Cosworth YB inlet for example (which was a homologation part so was designed to be like that for the race car), amongst many others, especially race cars.
Why do people think they should be removed?

How about this what if i built the box to mate up to the existing stacks. So it would be a slightly smaller volume box, but it would be welded to the existing stacks. This would be much easier for mounting and building it. How much will my performance suffer /improve with doing it this way opposed to making a plenum that attached directly to the carb with no stacks?
I had searched on this for velocity stacks a while back. Basically what I found was with FI you will not create more max HP. But you can improve the response time, and the amount of total time it takes to get to your max boost setting.
