v-mount with a fan shroud or without?

I have a FC that I did a v-mount radiator and intercooler setup on. I have a Koyo radiator for the FC. It was supposed to cool better than stock.... Originally I fabbed up a fan shroud fiberglass and used that to try. Bought a 15-16 inch fan from advance auto parts, etc. My shroud is collapsing, like I figured it eventually would.

I guess what I want to know is,

1. How many of you are running v-mounts without a fan shroud effectively? Just the fan against the back of the radiator...

and...

2. No fan shroud, with or without ducting to channel air to radiator and intercooler?

Thanks

post a picture of what your talking about and people will gladdly nit pick it apart for you to help you improve your setup if your not afraid to post what youve done and can take constructive critisizm. im slightly confused on what you mean the shroud collapsed?

sure the koyo should cool better but being you've changed the stock config you will have to make up what the stocker had in design. and if not done right you can inadvertantly create a worse system than stock.

just post them pics people will "help"

w/o shroud will suffice, but obviously with shroud is better.

Well I do great off boost, and on the road rolling. Sitting and idling worry me a little. It gets up to where I really start to pay attention to the temps.

Right now I dont have my intercooler in because Im trying to tune in non boost areas first. Megasquirt setup. But anyway, with the intercooler out and idling, I think Im pulling a lot of heat from the engine bay rather than the grill area. As soon as I put the turbo plumbing back in, I am going to fab some duct-work to block engine heat and direct incoming air.

My "shroud" was a quicky from fiberglass over a mold to fit radiator. Its inferior and thin, flimsy. I didnt take the time to form some sheetmetal like I should have but it was a temperary thing anyway.

I think I will try no shroud.

thanks
