Twin GT3071R's vs. single GT42R

Well a while back I was set on running a twin setup, but as of latley i've been considering just having a large single. The idea of running the twins was to have a faster spool, but have the ability to run ~500rwhp on pump gas. However, since there have been more and more GT42R's on rx7's, the spool doesn't seem to be very bad at all considering it's size. The GT42R has also shown to make 500+rwhp at 15psi on pump gas.

So now on to my question(s)...Does anyone see any problems running a twin setup with GT3071R's? Should I maybe downsize the turbos for my hp goal? I'm pretty much just looking for all around pro's and con's of each setup, and what ya'll would recommend. Hopefully ZeroR will chime in since i'll probably buy through him.

Currently i'm on stock ports, so I know no matter what, quite a bit of lag is going to be involved with either setup. I just see no point in yanking my motor for a port job, when it only has ~28,000 miles on it, and running strong. I'm running a Microtech LT10S w/ a microtech ignition amp and bosch coils, custom intake manifold (same length as factory) with a 3" TB, and a custom v-mount setup.

BTW, I forgot to add that I already have 2 GT3071R's, but can sell them at any time, thats not a big deal. T3 inlet with .63 A/R with t3/t4 5 bolt discharge for external w/g. Turbos are built by precision if that really matters.

I'm thinking about dropping the turbos down to a GT2871R, with the same specs.

Most turbos discussed on this board will make the same power at 15 PSI and this is no where near 500 on stock or even a street port. 2 3071s are a lot of turbo, similar to the 42. Both setups should yield results in the same ball park for response and power potential. Stay away if you won't port the engine.
