Still waiting to tune. The weather's been horrible here so the car been stuck in my garage until we have a dry day. Scoot hood and rain don't really mix to well, fried a coolant fan relay last time it was out in the rain.

What's wrong? Your rain gutter for that hood no good?

I'd say either that, or he doesn't have them for/on his hood.

The rain gutters will not fit due to the IC piping, strut bar, blow off valve, and now upper turbo piping. The hood fits with no clearance problems.

I have only driven my car in the rain twice. Once to last years Revolution, and once was caught by suprise when I had it at the shop.

Adding to the delay is a stock sequential customer from New York in for coilovers, training arms, toe links, rear diff bushings, oil pan gasket, soilid motor mounts, 4 puck clutch, ultimate fuel system, profec B spec 2, and T-78 install. All to be completed in 2 days.

And to top it all off, Jason is on vacation in Dallas.

Geez!! I'd say someone is impatient!!! lol

I think it'll be worth the wait, and that you'll be very pleased with the results!...If not, take a sludge to his dyno!!!

Took a little cruise to start to break in the clutch. Completely untuned, I did a few 50% throttle pulls in 3rd gear from about 2800 rpms. At 3000 rpms the turbos have built 5 psi and the begins to rythmically flutter with a increasing pitched "boooiit-boooiit-boooiit" noise (sorry, best I can describe in writing) and then at 4100 the boost shoots up hard to 12psi, where I have profec safely set. I'm sure what I am experiencing is compressor surge and will need to be further evaluated when I get the car on the dyno.

More to come........

how did u run the fuel lines with a supra pump and a walbro? i've never heard of anyone using those two pumps together because they have diff. flow rates.

You know Mike, I remember when your car was stock and you said, "Oh I'll just do a few mods"
What a beast you have turned it into! can't wait to see/hear it up close

why do you need 2 pumps even? i thought the denso pump was good for upwards of 600 hp provided that you have enough power going to the pump.

Not to get off topic but, did you get the latest version of the Aviation seals and did you use OEM springs? From my understanding, this is the combination that works.

His fuel system is similar to mines except I use Apexi BNR33 fuel pumps

I think he just wanted to let everyone know what he was using for no absolute reason.

Adjusted the wastegate rods and got rid of the surge but still have to adjust the lower turbo's wastegate rod to close fully, as I still have a slight audible oscillation.

I did a couple of short WOT pulls, starting at 2000 rpms, in 3rd gear. The car is completely untuned and no changes were made to the settings in the Profec.

3000 rpms = .49 bar = approx 7 psi
3500 rpms = .71 bar = approx 10 psi
4000 rpms = .87 bar = approx 12.5 psi

Hope to get the final adjustments done to the wastgates and on the dyno tomorrow evening.

How does the low end feel untuned compared to the stock sequentials?

that seems pretty similar to single turbo kits

It's been a while since I had the stock twins, so a comparison is not feasable. It does feel quite strong down low.

bolo_fd
If you re-read my post , I stated that there is one wastegate that is not fully closing, meaning it will be bleeding off the exhaust and not spooling/boosting as it should. That combined with the addition of UIM/LIM/TB porting, new fuel system, and primary injectors and my car is not at anywhere near it's potential until I can get the wastegate closed and the car tuned.

For folks who are speculating the spool time, you'll need to reference a non-sequential set-up instead of the stock sequential set-up.

The stock sequential set-up will use both runners for the smaller turbo before transitioning the vavle for the secondary turbo. That's what really makes the great spool and torque in the lower rpms in a stock set-up. I've looked at non-sequential dyno graphs and the torque and power curve don't even come close to the stock set-up. I haven't seen any set-up that can beat the stock twin sequentials as far as lower rpm (3krpm or lower) in torque.

I'm sure this set-up can be configured to spool faster than the non-sequential stock twins because you can tweak the turbo sizing for each runner. Results will have to confirm if Jason's kit will spool faster than non-sequential stock twins. I'm sure that the top end will be greater as these turbos are pretty efficient.

Man, I haven't seen Kevin post since the FC list days. I'm really out of touch.

FYI, the only thing fuel can do to help spool is ignite at the compressor wheel ("bang bang" kit). So don't bet the farm that fuel will help spool time. But you definitely should fix the wastegate issue you're seeing.

I would be careful driving around untuned if you go into higher rpm above 7psi of boost.
Good luck with test and tune.

Jason, good work on the kit (as usual). Looks like a hot seller considering the price. I'm not sure if shops will charge more for installation when comparing to a single turbo install.

huh i thought the fuel was suppose to ignite at the exhaust side of the turbo???
