Question Turbonetics Heatshield.

I have read previous threads about insullating the exhaust system ,and have decided against doing the exhaust manifold , but what about using the TURBONETICS turbine heat shield ? , should I or shouldn't I use it ?.

They look pretty nice, and don't worry, the Garrett turbine housings are very durable, it won't damage it or anything. they only make them for the on-center turbine housings. in most applications Tangential housing are better.

You can always do what I did, cost about $5 And it works. go to a hardware store and buy a sheet of thin alum. and line it with thermotech heat wrapping material, and wrap around the turbo (held down by the nuts/bolts that mounts the turbo onto the manifold). I won't be very effective without the heat wrapping, and also will rattle. You can just staple the wrapping onto the alum. sheet.

see the first pic in my thread:
