So how do you think it will perform with 850cc prim. 1680cc secondaries with a large streetport.

How did you get a .96 turbine, they come designed with a .81?

A .96 is a standard size for turbonetics.

No .96 on GTK850 is special order, it's standard on GTK1000 only.
When i will have time i will send drag video.

for a street setup how would the gtk 550 work out? if your not looking for crazy numbers.. just maybe 400 max at the wheels? but keep pressures below 16psi?

I believe for what you are asking a GTK650 with a .81 A/R rear housing is a better match. The 550 is supposed to generate 550 flywheel hp on a piston engine, on a rotor this would be significantly less and when you factor in drive train losses is ends up being a good turbo for about 350whp on a rotary and although it could perhaps be squeezed to 400whp I doubt it would be at less than 16psi.

yes 400 is just a number i want tpo eventually get too i guess you can say.. 360-370 is more my taste and if i can get a turbo to produce 400 safely it will be able to do a lil less safely also. least thats my thinking.

Seen a few on the dyno...they seem to spool up VERY fast and make the same basic #'s as the PTE units. You can also purchase the TC series units from Turbonetics which are the same basic unit except not BB and are alot less expensive <$1000

Guys, I need help to find the perfect GTK for my setup. my setup is:

13B 2-rotor engine
- 2mm Atkins apex seals
- 1600cc/850cc KGparts system
- Streetported (moderate)
- Big Greddy IC
- Tial 44mm WG
- AEM Water/Met injection kit
- Twin power
- Racing Radiator
- HKS Boostcontroller
(Currently running -very safe and durable- with a Turbonetics T61 with 365rwh on 14psi)

Question is: Which one of the GTK650 or GTK 850 do you recommend for my setup? is the GTK850 a safe option if i run it with 20psi - 26psi?? durability and safety is important to me. The car is used for street use, but i dont mind lots of power as long as it does not affect the spoolup time too much.

Thank you for all advice!

I would say go for the GTK850, with its large turbine wheel and the .81A/R rear it should flow at least like a .96 on a P-trim wheel, maybe bigger. It will also have great spool and generate a bit more power per PSI than the GTK650. They also cost about the same.

Just came of the Dyno today with a GT-K 850. And was dissapointed.

Result was 386rwhp at 1,25bar.
Making about 340 at 0,8, that is on the wastegate.

This car used to have a smaller Turbonetic turbo before, and the owner desided to go for a bigger one.

From wasgate spring to 1,2 the increase was inly 25rwhp.
But last increase from 1,2 to 1,25/1,30 was 20rwhp.

I assume the ports on engine is a bit small, and turbo wants high pressure before it comes alive.

Maks boost is at 5500rpm.

After the day on the dyno and driving the car, I must say, I just love my 500r kit on my car.

Weird, I have a friend with a gtk1000 on an aggressive streetport rew engine w a cosmo intake and he says he has 14psi at 3800-4000...he also makes well into the 450-500whp while in the psi "teens"...I wonder what could have caused such crappy performance...

Chris.

Chris.
Yes me to, the engine is just been rebuilt, and also the turbo.
Last time on dyno we did not get more than 330rwhp, before we found out the front rotor was gone.

I did a compression test day before dyno, and all rotors are around 110-115psi.
Setup is:

13B 2-rotor engine
- 2mm apex seals
- 1600cc/850cc KGparts system
- Streetported (moderate)
- Big IC
- Tial 44mm WG
- AEM Water injection kit
- Twin power
- Racing Radiator
- HKS Boostcontroller

We do not find out what is wrong.
I been on dyno with at least 10 cars with this turbo size, mostly all of them with Garret turbo's, and all off them have made over 425rwhp.
This turbo and setup is new to me, and i just want to know why the boost is this slow and power this low.

All cars are done on the dynapac dyno, with DIN correction.
