Hi, any guys with experience on GTK850 or GTK1000 TURBONETICS?

ZAN_TUNING 02-12-08 06:17 PM

i have seen good numbers from this turbo and am in the process of finishing an FD here in the shop with a GTK1000.

it should do exceptionally well on a 20B :D

allrotor93 02-13-08 06:26 AM

stevenoz built a bridgeport with an 850. he said it was insane.

zbrown 02-19-08 01:24 PM

what are the specs on the 1000?

must be similar to the old 76?

ZAN_TUNING 02-19-08 10:29 PM

yep it's a 76mm inducer.. i can measure the rest if you like

zbrown 02-19-08 10:59 PM

yes please ^^^

and thanks

anything else about this turbo??

teachermechanic 02-29-08 07:03 PM

I just recived my GTK 850, i will post pic soon.
It's for replace my T70 Turbonetics. This GTK is same size like T72 with Q trim.
The name of trim is "S" just because GTK use impeller F1.

any updates??

ITR 03-24-08 07:56 AM

Hi! Any updates? I'm really interested in this turbo especially the GTK850. What numbers (bhp) can i expect from a stock ports FD engine? Many thanks for any help!

GoodfellaFD3S 03-24-08 08:16 AM

Although I don't know the specifics on the 850, my gut feeling tells me it's way too damn big for a stock port motor.......

ITR 03-25-08 08:08 AM

Thanks GoodfellaFD3S for your suggestion. I was going to purchase one in the following weeks....you saved me! What type of single turbo do you suggest on a stock port motor?

TRISPEEDFD3S 03-25-08 07:03 PM

GT3574, GT35R, TO4S Ball Bearing, etc... depends on what you're trying to do.

ITR 03-26-08 05:40 AM

Thanks TripspeedFD3S. I had in mind to get rid of the twins and get a single. I was aiming for 400Bhp (with all supporting mods) but don't actually know what turbo suits me most.

RETed 03-26-08 07:44 AM

Do you guys realize the OP is going to put this thing on a 20B???

GoodfellaFD3S 03-26-08 08:21 AM

Well, my post was directed at ITR, who I'm pretty sure is asking about a stock port 2 rotor, no?

iceman4357 03-26-08 02:07 PM

I am also wondering what a GTK can do on a well ported 13b. Im halfbridge currently, now going to fullbridge. Wonder how it will respond to that?

ITR 03-27-08 02:12 AM

Yes GoodfellaFD3S you are right i was talking about a totally stock motor.

dradon03 03-27-08 03:52 AM

ITR maybe a GT28R will be more up your alley for what you want to do.

GT35R's can be 400+ horsepower to the wheels!

ITR 03-27-08 04:05 AM

Thanks Dradon03! I'll do a search on the GT28R then. Does this turbo come with an internal wastegate? I would prefer one with an external one....

Would the GT35R be good for me too (stock motor)?

Thanks again!

dradon03 03-27-08 08:30 AM

A GT35R is a great all around turbo but may need some more boost/porting to come alive. Realize that with Efini twins and full bolt ons tuned you are in the 400hp to the crank range.

Bump for more feedback. Someone has to have some dyno time on these.

killerrx710 08-20-08 06:20 AM

Wondering how the gtk 850 would work on a streetported 13b fd motor?
I'm considering getting one. The thing is i'm not going to really be on the track with it. is it a good street/highway turbo?

teachermechanic 08-20-08 07:18 AM

On my 20B street port GTK850 with .96 work realy fine.
Probably you need big street port because it's not small turbo (72mm compressor).
