Turbonetics to Garrett

I am running a turbonetics to4b 60-1 p-trim 1.0 divided turbine housing turbo, and I am looking into having a garrett shop build me a turbo, what does garrett offer that is a simialar turbo to my turbonetics unit?

th exact same turbo........ Turbonetics uses garret parts/garret clone parts. so if you give a garret shop those specs, you will get the exact same turbo, just assembled by that shop vice turbonetics.

for a person with a car tuned by steve, you sure don't seem to know very much about what you have.....

Since Garrett considers the T-series obsolete, I assume you are looking for a similar GT series. Why ask the idiots on this forum about turbo selection when you can ask Garrett directly?

I think Steve is now tuning cars that belong to people who are not turbocharger salesmen or rice racer magazine junkies, but I'm not sure. I think he should only tune cars that belong to people with a master's or doctorate degree in engineering, but that's just me. Heaven forbid he ever tunes cars for regular people.

Umm so because steve tuned my car I'm suppose to know everything about turbos? If that was the case why would I have steve tune my car in the first place then?

Evil, thank you for the comments regarding kenn, yea I am going to call a dealer tomorrow, I just want to have a lil bit of knowlege going in when I call them. Yes I am looking for the GT equivalent of what I currently have.

first let me appoligise to TrboRty.. that being said, I will lead you though why I made the comment I made....

as all of the people that steve tunes, that post on the forum seem to have a moderate amount of knowledge about their cars, it seemed strange he would not know something as basic as what he was seeking.

with the amount of idiots that make stupid claims on this forum, I made a bad assumption...To whit: that he listed (signature) his car as being done by steve just to try an impress others. wrong assumption.... ..

once again, my apologies to you.

Evil, he never made mention of wanting nor requiring ball bearings, just the same flow rates etc. and outmoded or not plenty of people still purchase your standard 60-1 as an economical yet quality turbo for the 13b.

The reason I came to the quick and misguided thought process above was that after i emailed steve a while back, and asked him some quesitons as a potential customer, I came to realize, that he prefers his customers to be informed, as he took the time to educate me somewhat in an area of expertise that I could not claim. this led me into the misguided thinking that at a minimum his customers knew the basics about their own cars. Why because you didn't bother to state that you wanted the equivlant in the GT series?

Why don't you just ask steve, as he could tell you exactly what would swap in without having to retune......

when I posted above, I had not read this post, and I was trying to apologise and take responsability for my quick, albet sometimes poor sense of humor.

Do try and grow a thicker skin, or when one of the real forum trolls finds you, you will not be ready for it.
