Turbo/waistgate advice
Car is a S4 87 Turbo II
So I picked up a T4 manifold and 3" V band DP last week, Looking for a good turbo/and waistgate combo.
My current mods are 3"DP to 2.5" flange hollow cat, to 3" apexi N1
Stock turbo with ported turbine inlet, and waistgate.
TB mod,
FD Fuel pump Rewired
720CC secoundarsy with Rtek ECU,
Sard RRFPR,
3" TID W cone filter,
Greddy BOV,
aluminum radiator,
2 gauge battery leads with extra grounds
stock top mount for now (Getting FMIC) ASAP,
Boost is set to 10 PSI. , A few other little things that I can't remember (emitions are all gone)
also getting a MSD or simular ASAP
I also have a Apex'i AFC Neo to go in when needed
Not that it matters (but just cause I wanna talkabout my car
RB front sway bar
sprigs look lowered (came on car with a FCD and cone filter and some sort of catback) so I'm not sure if its cut or actual strings
Polly busings
Front strut bar
solid engine and tranny mounts
AEM UGEO wideband
Electric boost gauge
I know I'll have to have a pipe built from new DP to replace cat pipe, and where precat use to be
I don't wan't to loose all my low end boost due to this being a daliy driver not a race car, but a bit more top end.
I'm also not rich, so if I can pick up a turbo from the junk yard, and rebuild I'm more than happy to do that. I just need to know what I need to look for, and about what size waistgate I should purghase, Or should I just stick with internal waistgate and block off the external part on the manifold? I plan on buying a good brand (no ebay junk)
Looking for a about or a little over 300 HP, I can swap to 1.8 rtek to run all 720's easy enough, but I also have the Neo piggyback, so I think its tunebable. Plus with the bigger turbo shouldn't hit max boost before 3500 RPM right? so can stock 550' primarys handle it?
and One more question
I can get a greddy type intercooler for just over 500 shipped
Or a godspeed for less than that
Or I can spend the extra cash and get a like new real greddy for a little over 600 that needs a few couplers and a compresion tube.
Is it worth the extra cash to just get the greddy, or am I jus paying for the name?
I'm on a budget (i have no job, and a bad car habbit)

This is the cheapest new Garrett turbo that will work well for you. It also spools extremely fast and doesn't choke on the top end if setup with the correct turbine a/r. 15psi is generally seen by 3200rpms on stock ports and that will make around 390rwhp.
Greddy stuff is worth the extra cash over ebay IC if you are not using water/alcohol injection.
