turbo opinions - ssautochrome

ssautochrome is running a special on the following turbo for $500:

Brand New In the Box T70
Super T-70 Turbo Charger
Super T70 Turbo w/ HKS Flange
RX7, Civic IHI
STONE RACING DEVELOPMENT

SHAFT & WHEEL TRIM 64.5mm
COMPRESSOR WHEEL SUPER 70 60.5mm
TURBINE HOUSING A/R .84
COMPRESSOR HOUSING A/R RATIO .70
WET FLOATING BALL BEARINGS

I am thinking about getting this turbo with their manifold/wastegate as a package to get a good deal. How would this turbo perform with a partial bridge? What kind of power could I expect?

These turbos have come up a lot on this forum. I think the general concensus is that they are a touch too small to use on a 3rd gen. They use a t3 flange and would most likely choke the high end. Would spool very fast though. The gt35 uses a t3 also so that theory may be bunch of bull. Anyway that turbo does not fit on their elcheapo manifold. The manifold is a t4.

BTW the last one of those super T70s sold for 315 and the one before that 311 so if you intend to get it, just bid, don't do any buy it now.

I have it on my car, because Dirty south rotary took my money but never gave me my engine. So I had to get some parts for cheap money.

At this moment (car not setup yet) I get boost starting at around 3200 RPM, dont know what it would be when I floor it, or when I would see full boost. I think full boost will come at 3500 RPM.

Dont use it in combination with their manifold, I did it too, and ending up welding it straight onto the turbo.

That turbo has been brought up before. I believe it is size similar to a t61 not a t70. Which is still a decent turbo. And I believe it's a p-trim exhaust wheel and can be switched to a t4 exhaust housing.
