im pretty much a newbie working with turbos so if at all possible i would like to be pointed in the right direction to any threads/sites that discuss the maintenance of the Garrett T62-1 Turbo and/or FAQs. thanks alot

 

Turbos can be rebuilt, but they shouldn't need to be maintained. What kind of information are you looking for?

im basically looking for information on upkeeping a turbo, like if it needs to be cleaned, if it requires some kind of lubrication etc

if it doesnt require any kind of upkeep then awesome, i can look into other parts of my car now

 

1. Change your oil every 2000-2500 miles
2. Run a good synthetic oil i.e...Royal Purple, Amsoil, Mobile one.
3. Turbo cool down before shut down. THE BIG DEBATE..!!
4. A properly working B.O.V.

I do all the above.
