Exclamation Turbo experts-advice needed

I have a lst gen with a 87 13bt and a T04 60-1 and now i'm wastegate shopping. My goal is approx 340-350 whp at about 10-12 psi. I'm looking at the tial wastegate due to there good rep and decent price. I've ruled out the 46 mm due to its price so i'm left with 2 options. 35 mm or 40 mm. Will the 35 do the trick or do I need something bigger. I've been told so many different things by many people I dont know who to beleive.

From your other thread: Did you go ahead and get a new comp wheel and housing, or just buy a different turbo?

I personally would go with the 46mm, but if price is that big of an issue use the 40mm. If your wastegate is going to be that small, why not use the HKS standard? Cheap and good quality, just not the ideal diameter.

There are a few things to consider when choosing a wastegate, the lower the boost the bigger the wastegate you will need,

im using a Garrett 42mm Gate,

for the manafolds we are making at the moment we are using 2in runners, this is suppose to help hold boost down to lower numbers but also allow more flow in the top end,

i was using a 1.5" manafold and boost wouldnt go below 13psi no matter what i did, even with the gate opening at 3psi!!!!! thus the reason for the 2in pipe!

i will get some pics of the manafolds we are making if you like, they are for a 1st gen with a 13b and turbo flange of choice, time is a killer at the moment and can only make about one manafold a fortnight,

Dale

Yea Dale I would love to see some pics. PM me also on pricing if your selling. Shipping costs would be a bitch but if the price was right....

I said **** that turbo...it needed to much done to it to become the turbo I wanted. I'm having one built for me locally. I'll let you know how its turns out when I get it and run it.

Ill get some pics tomorrow night for you, its not quite finished yet but you will get the idea, both runners will be done just the wastegate fittings wont be on there,

We are looking at selling them, just not too many as we dont have the time to make heaps of them, ill PM you with a price,

93 R1

we would need a manafold to make a Jig off, at the moment we only have Jigs for a 1st gen, i have a few mates that have 2nd and 3rd gens ill see if they are willing to pull off the manafold so we can jig it up if they are we would be able to make one to suit,
