For those using pre-turbo water injection on your big singles

At what boost level are you turning on your water? Do you find that the water slows your spool? Does the water injection reduce your power output.

As someone who is spraying about 600 -650cc of water at the compressor wheel of my Gt4094r from a distance of about 6 inches starting at 6psi, I am concerned of the effects are.

Please post your experiences.

I run water injection (water/meth actually) on my turbo setup but I run it post turbo. I use it to advance my timing and up my boost which has worked very well so far. So the water/meth by itself doesn't add power for me but it certainly does help allow me to do other things that add power.

I'm curious why you would want to run it pre-turbo instead of post. Subscribed to hear some input around this as well.

Mine comes on at 8psi. I'm not sure if it slows down spool noticeably, I get full boost (25psi) by 3900rpm on my dbb 6766 T4 1.0 divided hotside

I get full boost of 25psi about 1800 rpm later than you at about 5700rpm.
This is on a GT4094R 106 hotside

Water comes on at 8psi. I never noticed a big change in spool. Much of my slow down was from a 3" exhaust, T3 hotside, and wastegate plumbed back in. Opening up the hotside will help tremendously. 3.5 to 4.0" exhaust, dual wastegate manifold, T4 divided manifold, and open dumps will help spool quite a bit.

I don't notice a difference in spool. I'm running a 550cc W/I coolingmist preturbo on a 60-1 hybrid. I do notice a significant drop in power if it's not tuned for the water though, but the added safety is worth it.

I did a back to back a while ago( pre vs post compressor) and there was a difference in spool. I think it was around 200rpms with pre compressor, but slightly more power( 7rwhp? iirc).
