Thinking about doing a custom single turbo kit
Recently I was thinking about custom turbo setup, like t-78 or t04r or something of that size. tell me your opinions about what you think about custom setups.Who have one? was it difficult to collect all the parts?

I did one...its actually a pretty large pain in the ***...much more than you could imagine. Collecting all the parts is the easy part. Down pipe is kind of a pain in the ***. There are just a ton of stupid little problmes that pop up that you'd never think of.
I would have to agree with both widebody and 1sic, it can be easy to gather the parts but the unexpected always pops up. I pieced together my own single turbo kit, a TO4R to be exact. If you need help on some of the things I gathered, feel free to pm me.

It took me 2 years to get it almost perfect. T-70 w/ V-band was a PITA. But once you have it right its yours and I took some satisifaction in knowing I build it. Mine totalled out to about 2K with manifold, turbo, downpipe, oil lines, and misc. others.
Hey I'm in chicago area, buy my A-Spec GT40R kit, save yourself the hassle and time. Its alot cheaper than knew, your saving yourself over 600 buying from me instead of A-spec cause you'd have to pay sales tax on top of the price of the kit. And mine is priced below the price of a new kit. You can come see it if you want. PM me or call if your interested. Look here https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=375596

I built my own kit...took about a couple months, after I decided to go single.
Started with building a motor, then wiring haltech, then upgrading fuel, then couldn't justify putting twins on after all the time I spent, so put together a single turbo kit.
Making braided lines is a pain, then all the waiting for parts...then paying twice what the part is worth to over night it, then tuning a stand alone engine management...etc.
6 months after blowing a low miles rebuild from a shop, I have a DIY custom built FD.
5k miles later, I'm still grinning and giving rides like 6-flags at stock boost levels
