Thermo-wraps to help spool-up
Who has wrapped their downpipes with some kind of thermo-wrap in an attempt to help spoolup? Do you have any figures on how much it helped; 500rpms, 750rpms, etc.? Any quantitative info you can provide will be helpful.

This is a huge topic open for GREAT debates... almost as bad as the 2mm vs. 3mm seals
Anyhow, I have had my downpipe on my 13bt with 60-1 wrapped and unwrapped. It didn't make ANY noticeable difference either way.
When you wrap a downpipe, you hold heat in, and usully moisture... so, your downpipe was about half the life it normally would. Unless you use Stainless Steel... in that case, i've never personally seen a SS downpipe wrapped.
My advice (if its not SS), just get it ceramic coated so it lasts longer... don't futz with the heat wrap.

to improve spool up you need to wrap things before the turbo and the turbo to keep the heat in to increase the heat effect on the wheel , after the turbo is of no use to spin the wheel.
