TD61 Dyno on the 12th guess my RWHP!

Hey guys the day has been finally planned for the Dyno! Just thought it would be fun to see what people will think I get. I know the engine is kinda weak so im not sure how it will hold up but meh its almost winter so if it blows it will just get rebuilt over the winter!

Stock Motor
90 PSI compression
1000CC primaries
2200CC secondaries
3 1/2 inch full exhaust
AEM Smart coils
E85
1175hp rated Fuel pump
TD61 BB twinscroll turbo
Boost will be 15-25lbs depending how the engine holds up as it gets tuned

My guess is 450-550rwhp!

Is Ell tuning the car? OEM ports...but E85...hmm... I'm going to go ahead and say you'll make 430 Rwhp @ 22lbs.. only because compression and stock ports. if it were ported... i'd say you could make upwards of 480-500..

last week at my local dyno shop some kid made 465HP at 20psi stock ports stock apex seals on a precision 61 turbo 3" exhaust same injection on E85 but tuner stop there because the car was getting too hot and was worried about the stock seals.I think it all depends on how ballsie your tuner gets..I was trying to get a copy of that timing map but the guy would show me lolol..

A stock port power map is more valuable then a ported motor timing map. A lot more timing progression is needed to make optimal power and less timing around peak torque to be reliable. Timing maps for ported motors are easy by comparison.

When I first started street tuning on saturday, the front rotor keep shutting off... which is very easly seen by my dual EGT gauges. So after that we tested all the plugs for spark which was good, we checked the injectors and they appeared to work.

So at that point everything appeared to be ok... Well when I put back everything I switched the injectors around.... well in no less then 5 minutes after the car was running on 2 rotors the other rotor that wasnt havening any problems started to stop firing. So what we would do is pull the injector on that rotor wait 5 seconds then plug it back in... rotor would fire up agian but once agian in 1 to 2 minutes it would stop firing.

Thus thats why I believe that injector is bad because the problem followed the injector and no other factors changed then the injectors switching sides.

your first dyno days often don't go according to plan. New bug seem to show up, and the number is often below what you were hoping for. Just be patient and work through the issues slowly and carefully.

Another bit of advice I give people about going to the dyno is... don't bring your friends. Don't make an event out of it, at least in your typical test & tune type of situation. If possible, do it with the smallest audience you can manage. It reduces the stress and tension of the situation.

If your going E85, you need to use injectors that support E85 like the ID's.
