TA/TV 45 or 51 Turbo bb conversion
Hello,
Just wanted some input from you turbo experts out there. I have a T51s and wanted to covert the bushing to a BB. I really have no complaints on my turbo now. But i want to hear this thing whistle like the big riggs and of course spool a little earlier. Has anyone ever done this? please give me some input to a direction i should go?

you wanna hear it whistle get the antisurge front cover on it, that should do it. I believe the BB units are one piece so youd have to order one to fit im sure any knowledgeable turbo shop should be able to do that for you.

I see that thanks, So all i do is remove the front cover off? to better explain myself can you please check my vbgarage and tell me if i remove the pce were everyone usually clamps there airfilter is at on my turbo. Will that make that sort of noise i am looking for?. The turbo i have now, has three allan like bolt for on that paticular area on the cold side. I want to call it turbo "horn" but im sure there is another name for it.
Your going to have to remove and replace the entire front cover. Pull the hose/filter off the inlet, undo the disscharge, and take off the V-band clamp holding it on, then pull the entire front cover off. Reverse order for the new comp housing. It will kill spool a little bit and the top of the efficiency, but add to the left of the flow map (surge line). I personally would not trade off a little effiencey nor spool to "have a cool sounding turbo". You'll have to buy the comp cover from a Garrett disstributor. And no, ball bearings doesn't make any much noise difference at all, its the anti-surge housings.
