i just fired the car up from installing the t78 and now it is leaking oil and smoking like crazy.the oil is leaking into the compressor side and also the hotside..I bought the turbo second hand and the previous owner said that it was perfect before he pulled it off..so what could could cause this besides a bad oil seal in the turbo and the turbo has a very small amount of shaft play and has roughly 6 thousand miles on them and hadn't been run very hard either.

 

Are you running an oil restrictor? is your oil return line to small or routed poorly?

 

no i am not running any restrictor..and the feed line is hooked up by a an fitting on the turbo and a an fitting from the block then routed straight to the turbo..and do i need some sort of ristrictor...

since the oil is already leaking does this mean i blew the seal and have to rebuild the turbo or can it be fix just by putting a ristrictor..
