T62-1 Turbonetics

Hi Guys!

I'm tempted to purchase one of these kits : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-96...mZ180276539649

Can someone give me a little help weather is it worth it or not please? Have anyone tried this T62-1 Turbonetics turbo on stock ported engine?

Thanks!

looks like a bunch of knock off parts... notice it says "style" after the wastegate and bov.

I run the same turbo on a ported motor and make 500 h/p but it will not spool like stock.
I think you can get the 62-1 for about 950.00, and for the other parts there ebay parts that may or may not work well depending on your ability to tweek them and test to make sure they work.
My opinion is if your not highly gualified and know what your doing i would stay away from this [kit] and go with better name brand kits.

After all how much is your running motor worth and is it worth the risk. And dont forget the best parts are worhless if not tunned correctly!

Agree with the above. The 62-1 compressor is a decent match for a rotary. You're probably going to see full boost around 4500 rpm with that turbo on a stock port. The rest of the kit is Chinese junk. For my money, if that were my budget, I'd look for quality used parts over that stuff. Had a customer bring me one of those Chinese manifolds and wastegates and it was nothing but trouble from the beginning.

Sh**... I bought that kit a few months ago, and had a guy to install it recently..
I'm not using the downpipe and the intercooler pipe that came with that kit. I got a Greddy Intercooler kit.
we're gonna fire up the engine in a few days... I just hope it wont f*** up my engine or give me much trouble...

the guy is a powerseller at e-bay and offers a one year no hassle warranty. he seems like a nice guy who replied instantly and offered all the help I needed and gave me pho.no to contact him.

what parts do you guys recommend me is the most important to change, now that I have bought it?? any help and advice will be much appreciated, guys!

The waste-gate for sure. Arguably the exhaust manifold.

I run the Turbonetics 62-1..

With all the standard supporting mods, I dyno'd 326hp/293tq @ only 11psi.

I like it a lot.

Very smooth powerband, and it works well with the REW.

The powerband starts at high 3's and max HP is at about 6,600RPM..No need to redline.

Dyno pic. Refer to the solid red/blue lines.

Sorry it's kind of big.

The roller weight setting of my brother's shop's Mustang Dyno is not the same as a Dynojet dyno. It's meant to be more realistic, by showing actual to-the-ground horsepower, versus a Dynojet dyno which is basically free-spinning.

Same exact car. Same exact tune. Dynojet Dyno:

I think i saw you driving that car around the island of Malta back in 2008. Where you cruising around with a Mitsubishi Evo? My ship, "USS NASSAU" was out there for what felt like a week, we had a freaking blast! It's beautiful there and the McDonald's is 3 times better than here in the states! Seeing those two cars around was so awesome and it helped me so much because i was a world away from my fd... Little did i know the beautiful sound coming from your car was the very turbo that i was buying omw back from deployment.
