60-1 turbos are sometimes referred to as T04B's, but as said above. They are all older technology turbos vs BW's ETT wheelw, Garrett's GT lineup or Precision's billet lineup.

There's no way to guarantee that you will make 450hp at 15 psi with any turbo. There are too many variables in tune, engine build, efficiency of everything else, etc. but if that is your power goal, a T04R/Z is a good turbo. a GT35R will also get you there with great spool.

As said, the T04whatever was originally designed by Garrett right back in the day to designate compressor housing inlet and outlet sizes.
Going by their terms alone it means nothing else as there could be a variety of wheels and turbines, but obviously in certain scenes a T04E is a certain turbo spec, but if you said that to someone not used to the usual turbos used in that car scene they'd be confused.
Not like it will help too much, but the official designations are as follows...
T04B (2.75" in / 1.75" out), T04E (3" in / 2" out), T04S (4" in / 2.5" out), T04H (4" in / 3" out)

Bringing this back to the top, do the T04Es people generally use actually have T04E compressor covers?
As the turbo that was on my car when it came over from Japan, a T04E supposedly, has a T04B sized compressor inlet and outlets, thats for sure.

Savanna Rx-7
send me a photo f the turbine and I will try to ID it for you. their are only a few models of the to4e being used here in japan, and all of them are HKS variants. unless the owner bought from the states then it will be one of those.
what model rx-7?
what mods to car? ie: downpipe, turbo, computer, injector
this will help identify which shop did it, unless yo already know.
cheers
