T04b .60 maximum working pressure

hi

I've got a t04b .60 hybrid (S5 FC turbine and exhaust housing) and was wondering what the max safe working pressure is of this turbo

thanks!

Something like 26+psi before you are exceeding Garrett ratings for compressor pressure ratio. Considering Garrett rate the wheels at 95kpa barometric pressure and a good air filter gives you 101.3kpa and the peak flow pressure ratio rating is 2.8PR for V-trim and 2.7PR for H-trim.

Yes I have done it, I wouldn't do it without a 360 thrust bearing kit, and a workshop balance with a warranty. I also wouldn't do it without Iridium race spark plugs R7420-9 (leading) R7420-11 (trailing).

You will need E85 + water injection or 98RON + a lot of water injection. Big intercooler, loose exhaust, open wastegates.

Probably not what you expected to be told but its a fact and I have personally tested it.

Most of the sheep use 8psi 10psi 12psi 15psi. I find 17psi boring. You are giving yourself a very broad power band with high boost (25+). My turbo is off my car at the moment and has no more bearing play than when it was installed.

wow, thats alot higher than i expected. do you know where its maximum efficiency is (pressure wise?)

i dont have a 360 thrust in mine, but i do have it balanced with a warranty. I was planing on running ~18psi but like you said most ppl run 10-15psi on these compressors.

i dont have water injection, i run trailing spark plugs in all for positions (heat range 9 vs 7) and i have 730cc primary and 1kcc secondaries backed up by a walbro 255, HUGE intercooler, 3" turbo back exhaust, CDI, etc...

Sounds to me like you have everything just about spot on.

Small Turbo Maximum compressor efficiency = low amount of power
Large Turbo Maximum compressor efficiency = laggy and higher rpm for boost

Find your happy medium somewhere in the middle! My current project is using high boost with small wheels next time I will try using more boost again with slightly larger wheels.
