A Turbonetics T76 is not smaller than a T88 or T51. Largest A/R you can get on a T88 or T51 is like a 1.0! WTF is that?!

2nd..you state the T-78 is "lazier" cause the the turbing housing is "smaller"..huh???? a smaller turbine housing puts more back pressure across the wheel which produces faster spool up

You guys should check out the compressor maps for these, at least you will know what turbo efficiency you are at for the flow you expect.
For a starter, you will flow about 50 lb/min to get about 500 HP.
The compressor maps tell you how much a turbo can flow. They don't tell you the lag.
So nobody has any experience on the T72 ?

I personally like the T88 over the T78, I've had friends with both turbos and I personally had a T88 in my RX7, the T88 kit is only a little more than the T78 and offers better stuff like a bigger wastegate, manifold, and it also includes a downpipe and a resonated midpipe which the T78 doesn't come with. As far as response and lag, I had no complaints with my T88, I drove mine with a 20 psi wastegate spring, so that was the minimum boost pressure I could run. I drove my car in the street on pump gas with no problems, I liked it alot.

Ya, I guess these HKS and Greedy companies are out to sell to the "kit kiddies". I still don't see why they don't release the compressor maps. Maybe they don't have them either? ;-)
I have to totally build my system from scratch, including the exhaust manifolds, etc. More work, for sure. I was just looking at the T78 vs T72 maps, they both look comparable at a 2.0 pressure ratio, and 600HP.
ps: Use the Caps Lock key , unless you are purposly trying to look loud and obnoxious with all CAPS!

Get yourself a Garrett turbo (Garrett make HKS turbos anyway) like a TA45 with a P blade and 1.15 exhaust housing, get yourself a good SS manifold and a 42mm garrett wastegate and away you go. You will save a HEAP of money over the kits, have something different and something that hauls ****!
Put an E6K on it and your laughing!
With that setup ona say in a 3rd Gen, you should pull an 11 on 15psi at high 11xmph.

OK... So if you have two rx7's, both of them basically has the same mods ( Street port, Haltech E6K, and all the other goodies ) and both are running about 28 pounds of boost but just different turbos ( one has the T88, other has the T51R ) Which one would make more HP on the dyno?
