switched wideband power?

hi
i am instaling an innovate lc1 with an xd 16 gauge .
i do not know where to power the wideband from.if i power it from an accesory source as per manual that means that when i turn the key to acc the wideband starts heating. is it good or NOT? what if i do not want to start the engine?i assume that i will have serius batery drainage.

do you guys have an idea?

if i install a power switch? i have the questions:
1) what if i start the car and forgot to turn on the wideband ?can i damage the sensor if the engine started without the wideband power on?
2)install a switch before the controler or only to the sensors +12v power?(and run the controlers power to the acc source)

i read as many posts i could about that but i am not sure what to do.
can you direct me?
thanks!!!

You shoud not have a problem wiring it up to an acc source. I should not damage the sensor, I would not recommend wiring it to a switch unless you really want to have the ability to turn it on and off at will. The sensor is sensitive and running a cold sensor is not recommended by the factory. If you go to the innovate website they had a good write up on warming the sensor and break in.

Hooking it up to the main ignition is fine. You only damage the sensor if your run the car with the wideband off since its not being heated.

Just hooked the LC-1 up also.....I'm concerned with my read out on the gauge showing a 7.5....granted I just got a map to download to the Power FC. The car would not stay running with FC, LC-1, datalogit hooked up....downloading map tonight! Hope this cures the read out. Some of the instructions are confusing when it comes to the wires.

The gauge will read 7.5 or whatever until the sensor warms up.
