spool rate of the SR stage 2 turbo...

What is the spool rate like for the SR stage 2 turbo compared to other turbo setups? How streetable is it? Maybe even Ernie can chime in?

I can't help you out too much (no numbers) but I do know the stage 3 is similar to a T78 in terms of power output and size, but spools up a little bit faster.

Therefore, the stage 2 turbo should be even quicker spooling.

I got 15 psi boost by about 4200-4400 rpm with SR Stage II Turbo and SR ported housings for my motor. In fourth gear it would make 10 psi by 3600rpm or so.

There isn't a stage 3. Ray makes it in a stage 1,2,5 and 6.....Don't know why he skipped a few numbers...lol
I made 372rwhp @ 10psi.... I can't tell ya what I made at 20psi on a stock motor....I'd have to kill ya...
It spools faster than average. I hit 15psi at about 3900-4000 with a 1bar wastegate spring. This summer I'll run 28lbs and see how she does on a ported motor.

That is the K28 turbo right? Wasn't there something going around about how SR was using holset housings and KKK compressors/turbines? Is there any other source for KKK turbos? Lately I've been realizing more and more just how many largely unknown (at least to me) options there are for RX-7 owners that are looking in the 450-550 rwhp range w/ relatively quick response. Sorry sometimes I ramble.

No, its not the K28. The KKK that Ray sells, he does fab up with a holset compressor so no you wouldn't be able to buy his exact turbo from another source.

I must have been thinking of Stage II comparable to a T78 then, not the 'stage III' turbo.
Thanks for the correction.

hmmm as far as comparability, its quite large as i remember, but i know if u check out the sr site, they mad around 550 whp at 19 psi, but its water injected for all u that think its a horrible thing to do to ur 7, newayz check it out, its got a dyno for it, and a list of mods, sounds like a good turbo to me. its bigger than mine so
