I know that the A Spec kit is a better kit hands down, but how much worse is the RX7 Store kit? The RX7 store kit is about $1k cheaper and I havent heard anything bad about them. What do you guys think?
Now I am not really hip on the Aspec kit, however I have the RX7 STORE GT35r kit & I have been very satisified to say the least. Jason has the fundamentals of the kit down & thats what really matters. It gives you a great start on the overall project leaving the small things up to the installer. My car builds boost like I would have never expected, seriously. I was reluctant to go single for years, but now I would say get the RX7 STORE kit and never look back. Now I will say the RX7 STORE may not be the fastest but once I got all my new parts, whatever they were, the end result was that I was a happy camper. Worth waitin for thats for sure. Besides, if its one thing I've learned when it comes to your car, nothing is ever as fast as you want, thats just the way it is. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

I vote A-spec 110% I bought a kit from Rx7store and all of the coolant oil fitting were incorrect, wastegate was backordered and oil feed line was way too long. Also their manifold is the cheap one from ebay that resulted in uncontrollable boost creep. Not to mention their 35R is only available in a T3 housing.
Save yourself the headache and spend a little more now for a quality kit.
FWIW I bought my kit about 3-4 years ago. So their Quality MAY have improved. Either way A-spec gets my vote.

Jason said they don't use the Megan manifold any longer. Turbo kits are 90% of aspecs business so they are very good at building them and offer options since they build to order.

Main difference between our kits is the manifold which is where the savings is. We dont use the Megan manifolds any longer and outsourced our new manifolds which use very thick flanges. The main complaint on Megan manifolds or any of the ebay style are the flanges are very thin and tend to warp fast. Thats not to say they dont work as I have had customers put 30k miles on them with no problems. I just decided to not deal with warping at all which is the reason for the switch.
If I really wanted to I could easily build a kit that is $3500 with an expensive manifold but I dont feel the need. I think the manifold we use works well and so far no issues. I wanted to make an affordable kit for people that are on a budget. Plus I can ship a kit in 3-4 days where it takes A-Spec 1-2 months. A-Spec does make a nice kit, so nothing wrong with it but you have to wait.
