A-SPEC FD GT35R WG Spring Tests
I have stock ports and my Tial 46mm WG came with the 7.25 lb spring. No matter what I did to my boost controller settings, I could not get over 13psi boost by 3600rpm when running 15psi max boost. I could not even get the boost to spike, not even at 13psi max boost.
I just installed the 10.15 lb spring and ran three quick tests running 15psi max boost. Now at 3600rpm I have 14psi boost and a nicer curve.
See attached file. On the right side you will see something like:
WG10G15, this means the WG spring was 10 lb with the boost controller gain set at 15. Gain affects how fast boost rises.
I suggest if getting this kit for stock ports, ask them for the 10.15 lb spring which will save you $10. The next larger spring size for the 44/46 WGs is is 11.6 lb.
