Spark Plug Question

S5 Turbo Motor.... ect..

What is the difference between the NGK BRU9EQ and BUR9EQP. (platnum?)I know that there has been talk that the P is for the trailing, but what is the actual difference.

I am gonna replace the plugs today and the local parts store only has BUR9EQ's so i am gonna replace the stock plugs with a bit colder plug. (ie a 7 with a 9 ).

Should I not do this ? Or is it no big deal?

I have also seen some more information about the R5671a and the b10egv, but i am gonna do some tuning and the local parts store has a 2 yr warranty on NGK plugs, and they cannot get the r-5671a's or the b10.

I will go with a different plug after i have fouled a few out tuning

The P is for platinum. If your car is pretty well modified then I'd use the standard BUR9EQ. But I switched to the B10EGV whith my new motor & have no regrets. I ordered them for $5.99 each from monarchproducts.com

Anyhow, you really didn't give any details on your setup thhough so it's not possible for anyone to offer you good advice...

I have been running the b10egv's for a while with good luck, I normally get them at the local motorcycle shop, a friend told me that I could order them through my local autoparts store orilley's I took a plug in and when they serced for it it came up with a diff # I went a head an ordred a set of the plugs.

when they came in they were not the same b10egv but a br10eix and came back as an iridium plug. I have not put them in the car yet, but they were pretty cheap at around 5.20 each. The plugs look exactly the same other than the tip on the plug.

any comments?

Thanks,
James

I've been running the R5671A-10's. The part number is 5820. I get them at NAPA but most stores should be able to order them. They have a 5/8" hex so no "ground down" or special socket is needed either and they're a breeze to put in. They only cost about $1.75 and hold up as well as any I've run.
