For some reason, I don't think this is part of the break in procedure....

Looks like the shop I had it done by used enamel or something

I'm pissed because I don't want to lift this heavy bastard out of my engine bay. This thing kills my back everytime.

Can someone recommend a good place to have my turbine coated without getting too expensive? I really don't want to send it back to the same place..

HPC stuff works if you just want rust proofing, and its inexpensive... Or you could just throw a turbo blanket on it and call it a day..??

Coming from the man who curls 13b's I find this funny, I guess we are getting old.
That's what sucks with BW units your stuck with the huge lame cast iron back plate.

I agree with the turbo blanket quick easy solution, and no need to remove it.

sucks to hear about your coating crapping out on you. if the blanket works, then do it.

however, if you're still interested, you can contact GoodfellaFD3S. in his last build thread, he mentioned that he has "a guy" that uses a ceramic coating that's compatible with the rotary's heat. he used it on his car if that means anything.

I've always neglected my lower back

My flange is vertical, so it's not like I can just sit my turbo on there and bolt it down. I have to hold it in place with one arm, and try and line up the bolts with the other.

What's the weight difference between the S400's and a GT42R?
