size of T78

I am looking for the size of a T78. Compressor, turbine, inlets, and ARs. If any body knows please let me know. It seems like no one knows this information.

What I'm really trying to do is get a feeling of how big my turbo is compared to the T78. These are the specs:
4 inch inlet
61 mm compressor
don't know cold side AR
q-trim
about 75mm turbine
1.08 hotside AR

I have asked so many people this question...why is it so top secret? Is there an "I know the size of the T78" club that I'm not allowed to be in? haha. I've heard Greddy does their measurements differently than say Garrett, so is that the reason no one can give me sizes?

That info is not right. The 7 means the exhaust side is from a TD07 and the 8 means the compressor side is from a TD08. T78. It's got a 67mm compessor wheel, 4" inlet, and .96AR on the exhaust side. The T88 uses a 73mm compressor wheel.

I thought that 78mm seemed pretty damn high. I've heard the .96 hotside AR before. not sure if this is true or not but I've also heard that T78 s are different sizes on different cars, the one used on the supra kit is a little smaller than the one used on our T78 kits.

its all in the name they give these turbos , for instance turbonetics has a t76 , it has a 76 mm inducer and i believe somewhat like a 96mm exducer (i could be wrong on the size here but just to illustrate) so turbonetics names there turbos on inducer size
where greddy names ther turbo from the exducer t88=88mm exducer
so in "greddy-land " a t76(turbonetics) would be a t96...
while the greddy t88 is big the turbonetics t76 is bigger
but as the numbers point ,it can be confuseing t88<t76 funny isnt it ....i guess thats marketing for ya

T88 uses 70 mm compressor wheel. At least the T88-34D and T88H I believe. The T88-GK(or something like this) uses 76 mm compressor wheel. T78 has various A/Rs, not sure if one of them translates to 0.96 though, I remember somebody was saying it was closer to 1.15

Hello all.

The TD07 and the T78 are totally different. I have built both turbos and had to source replacement parts for both turbochargers. The T78 is a full TD08. If you look at the full TD series of turbos, they step up in size when you step up in numbers. there are TD04/5/6/7/8/9. The "H" series, when you place them next to one another, they look identicle in design just one step larger in the shaft and in the head of the turbine wheel. The TD05/6 have the same shaft size, but the head of the wheel is larger on the TD06. But back on the subject, the replacment bearings and what not on a T78 is in fact TD08. The compressor housing on the TD08 is way bigger than a TD07. It is about like comparing to4E's to T04S's. The TD07 has a smaller bearing housing, bearings , shaft and compressor wheel/ housing than the TD08 T78. The T88 is also a TD08, the shaft is the same size as the T78, but the turbine wheel is a step larger than the T78 turbine wheel head. I hope I cleared some of this up for you guys.
