Single Turbo... Is it safe..

i am going to rebuild my 1993 Rx7 engine... and was think of making it single turbo.. If i just make the single turbo remaing with the same ECU will it be safe..
The only reason i might do a single turbo since i believe that the engine will be able to breath more... will be more comfortable... whilst remaining with the same power hopefully... any suggestions please.

No. Converting to a single turbo requires extensive modification to your car... because of exactly what you said. It will breathe more. More air requires more fuel. A bigger fuel requirement requires bigger injectors, bigger pump etc.

There is nothing wrong with the power delivery of the stock setup. Properly running, it's a fun, FAST car.

going big on the things required to sustain the turbo is better. that way you dont have to buy more stuff like injectors, fuel rail, pump, ignition.

Just in case you don't know what he meant, when you upgrade your clutch don't get one that only holds the power you are about to make, get one that holds more. Don't get 1300cc secondary injectors, go for the 1600's. It gets really expensive reupgrading parts.

true. Ive seen friends of mine resell parts that they just modded. and i was telling them why didng you just go with the modified fuel rail so you can put bigger injectors instead of keep modded from 550 to 750 to 850. Plus youll save more so you can use it on other things
