Single turbo Cost : Luvrx7 and others...
Hey Luvrx7 - I know you went single recently at KD (and since I would take it there), and anyone else who's gone single...
what's a reasonable estimate for cost to upgrade to a single turbo? What kit and what other "parts" were required?
I already have a Power FC and Apexi FMIC, and a couple of other little things... but I figure injectors, tuning, FP regulator, porting possibly(?), tuning etc are going to cost a ton.
hey LUVRX7, how much did you kit and labor and all cost?
thanks.
Ps. anyone have clues on how much i'd be able to sell my bonez downpipe and twins for? (like 600 or 700 total?) Trying to figure out how much i need to save to go single - and pump out a healthy 350-400 rwhps safely.

I bought the XS-Engineering T04e kit from the RX7Store group buy. KDR has installed it and I don't know all the costs yet. Best to e-mail Dave at KDR. KDROTARY@ENTER.NET
Might take a couple of days for him to e-mail you back.

Sounds like all I need are: turbo kit and injectors -- I already have an upgraded IC and fuel pump. I was planning on doing the boost controller anyways, so we can chuck that in there as well. I've been reading that the Power FC has problems controlling boost above... 14.5psi (was it?), any truth here?

The limit is rumored to be 17.2 psi or thereabouts. And the problem is not that it can't control boost, but rather that the PowerFC cannot read manifold pressures above 17.2 psi when you are using the stock MAP sensor, and thus it cannot effectively provide fuel injection at boost above that level.
Is it possible to run more than 17ish psi on the PowerFC with the stock MAP sensor? Absolutely, but it is a really foolish thing to do if you value your engine. Don't do it.
You can upgrade the MAP sensor to run higher boost. Talk to the guys at http://www.xs-engineering.com/ to see what upgrades are available.
