you may be able to hit that with a t-78 at very high boost, I dont think a rx-6 will do it but like Gamezilla said you are better off with a T88 or a T51R.

i agree with everyone, 550hp in an FD is insanely FAST, almost fast enough to where its not even driveable on the street..

the rx6 i heard nothing but nice comments on them, you can settle with 400rwhp and trust me, you'll be happy..

You can do that with a smaller turbo with good tunning, dont forget that the FD is a light car so power to weight ratio will be in your advantage, 400 hp on a FD will get you your goal to crush v8 modded stangs and porsches, a t78 would work or to4r..

full boost on a t51 I believe is at about 5000 to 6000 rpm not sure but I know it is up there..and to hit the power you want you might be able to get away with 850cc primary and 1600cc secondary with and upgraded fuel pump and regulator of course.

You will have to run C16 or similar fuel to hit those power levels. A T-78 can do it at high boost.

There are very few street cars that would be as fast as a 400-420 rwhp FD that could put the power down.

A T51 doesn't make full boost until 5000+ rpm. Why don't you buy a turbo that still allows the car to be reasonably fun to drive while making 400+ rwhp -- as others have suggested - TO4R, T04S, GT 35/40 at higher boost, T-78 at higher boost.

The RX-6 will not make 500hp and the T-78 could but it would be pushing it. I would agree with rynberg here and go for a more fun, streetable setup. But if high hp #s are your thing and you really want 500+, the T-88 is a good turbo. Lots of lag, but tons of power.

An Rx-6 will make 500 crank hp but not at the wheels. I don't think I would run that must boost on such a small turbo without some race gas, but it is possible.

i have an apex rx-6, i think its the best street turbo you can buy. i get full boost by 3k rpms. but i will only make 400 whp. 500 whp is high, i would suggest a gt40, that might get you there with high boost. also they spool very well for there size. btw, jason from rx7store made 506whp with a upgraded t78.

in order to make that much HP on the T78 you would have to run race gas and around 27 PSI. I dont even think the r6 is capable of hitting 500rwp(not that ive ever seen). The others are correct with the T88 ior t51.

Im getting my motor and T78 done by jason, and we are going to tune at 17 psi on 93 octane, at this we should be around 450rwp+/-

I like a .81 PT67(TO4R), simple, fast spool, inexpensive. I get 15psi(400rwhp) in my FC by ~4500rpm, and ~20psi (480rwhp/370TQ) by 5000rpm. That is with a small streetport, and an HKS cast manifold. Torque is flat from ~4500 to redline. There is nothing fancy about my set-up, I do run race fuel, but I am always running 20psi on the road course. The car is explosive, I damn near lifted the front off the ground dumping the clutch at 4500rpm in first gear yesterday(slicks). Anyway, that is my choice. BTW, the 480@20(Dynapack) was a dyno session I did yesterday, the 506 number I did a couple weeks ago was at ~23psi. I think with more tuning, and a larger port, I could make high 500s@28psi at the wheels. My buddy made 796 with this same turbo on his Supra. Remember this a turbo that puts me to the top of second in less than 3 seconds with almost no wheel spin. I think an FC could probably hook at 15 psi with 265-35-18 Falken 615s. Carl

I remeber playing around on the streets in venezuela. Quite fun, La Panemericana was a big drag strip. Doesnt sound to safe , but fun none the less.

Since the last time i was down there everyone was jumping on the turbo wagon. Barely saw any Rx7s ( maybe one or two going to las mercedes or something like that ).

Either way, My question is, who is going to tune this for you ? RPM ? o autotecnica or someone else ? When i was down there I really didnt find much EFI tuners.

Tons of talent in the turbo kits but most where piggy back systems , wich for your plans arent ideal.

For the turbo kit you want, you need to upgrade quite a few things. And find a dyno and somebody to tune it.

I remember a very nice Silver FD, I believe a person from Caracas Had it built by petit then shipped to caracas. That was a nice car .

As for turbo options , Well I dont have experience with either so ill let other people give there opinions.

Oh and for people who think everyone drives a Vw bug in venezuela thats wrong. Theres tons of nice cars , and the FU$king dirt cheap gas and no emissions and cheap *** insurence IS GREAT !.

I'd use a Precision PT67 depending on the manifold, either a .81 undivided, or if you go tubular divided , the next size up in divided. Should be ~1100.00 new for the turbo, no need for the HKS. You'll need a 50mm WG IMHO as well. I am using the SSAC one, so far, so good... ITS also makes a nice 67MM turbo. Carl

I got the RX6B kit, it's real streatable, fast spool-up, with a hige FMIC I get full boost @ 3 - 3.5K RPM.
On 10-11 psi of boost w/little boost spike to 12-13psi, It's making 311 RWHP ... I need a good BC and than gonna dyno @ 16 psi, that should get me somewhere around 400RWHP.
The car is lightning fast as it is, + is very reliable, I love it...

25lbs with a ported motor on a t78 should give you those numbers on pump gas with some tunning an 550 pri & 1600CC secondary's

make sure you use 2 fuel pumps
