simple stupid questions

got bored and started bolting things together in my room to make sure I am not forgetting anything I am going to need to finish this project and came up with a few simple stupid questions...

1) what size are and where can i get the fittings for an HKS standard wastegate for vacuum lines.

2) is there not supposed to be a gasket in between the turbo and the manifold?

3) how the hell does this heat shield attach? do i have to wire it on there or something to get it to stay still?

TIA,

Not sure about the fitting sizes, try something by earl's or russel. Best bet is to bring the turbo to a speed shop and match up the fittings. My gt 35/40 kit doesn't have a gasket between the downpipe and turbo either. I put some copper rtv there, but it probably burnt away. Once warmed up it doesn't leak. In the future I might make a gasket for it.

I "believe" the fittings ar 1/4" pipe thread, there should be a gasket between the turbo and manifold, and the heat shield is wired on, I don't know what kit you have but the XS kits comes with a little sppol of wire for the heat shield.

i have the Nic Morris kit
Turbonetics T61, HKS manifold and wastegate, custom downpipe

i have no gasket or spool of wire to wire the heat shield up with....guess i should try finding something to use. I thought they were 1/4" pipe thread, but the vacuum line fitting threading that is used on the turbo outlet seems to be different than that of which is on the wastegate.....it starts to thread, but acts like maybe the pitch on the threading is different even though the diameter might be about right.
