Series 6 wire harness to use latest PFC?
Has anybody looked in to this? It would be like changing from a 286 to a pentium. I know it can't be done with the twins becuase the rats nest is different. There is also the Rhd ro Lhd thing but using both USDM and JDM wire harnesses should work with some splicing and soldering or maybe just unpluging and repluging pins in different locations. I'm not sure if the latest PFC is still only 250rpm incaments or closer to the 100rpm of the AEM unit but the processor is a big step up.

We know the stock series 7 and series 8 ECU is better. But how do we know the series 7 and series 8 PFC is better? The first PFC was actually for series 7, it is part number 414-Z001. See this post: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...77&postcount=2
It's either a first-run PFC, part numbers 414-Z001 through 414-Z003, or a second run PFC, part numbers 414-Z004 through 414-Z006 . Do you have any reliable information indicating that the s7 and s8 Power FC is better? It seems like it only has a different connector, and maybe some of them have slightly different base maps.

It's been too long to remember but I beleive ours has an 8bit CPU and the latest series RX7 PFC was a 32bit. So that is what I meant going from a 386 to a pentium PC. I could call Apexi but I figured after all these years there was someone else that looked in to this.

We know there were many differences in the factory ECU's across the series. But has anyone confirmed that the later series Power FC's are any better/different? How do we know it's not the same basic computer with a different connector/pinout? Just because the factory computer was better does not mean these aftermarket computers are better.
