SAFC and a single.
well im getting tired of my car just sitting. the stock turbos went out on me awhile ago back and i have slowly ben puting a single turbo kit together. I had around 12k to drop on a setup until i bought a turbocharged IS300 which i have then tradded for an s2000. Any ways im straped for cash and i want to drive my car with the single on it, not at any crazy boost levels either. So i was wondering what some of you guys thought about running low boost and using my safc until i can get a pfc just so i can drive around.

The problem with using a piggyback controller like the SAFC-II is that it's based on throttle position, not on a MAP sensor. You could probably use it and get your car to drive decently, but you're either going to have poor on-boost performance, or poor off-boost driveability. If you absolutely have to, I suppose you could use it, but it's not going to yield much power or driveability. I'd say it's best to save up some more money and wait to get a standalone, in the end you'll probably be much happier.

the safc can be wired to make hi-low map changes via the map sensor and not the tps
i know this has been done, at least on a stock fc ecu
i was going to switch mine to read the map but i am just going to get a haltech
