s400 + RX-7 = ?

Not the best at turbo-sizing so i was wondering if anyone new if this would work on a rotary, where would it spool? I'm guessing it wouldn't be good for anything under 500HP - 600HP, figured i'd check with you guys

Thanks

Cold Side:

Huge 62 Trim Compressor Wheel -2.505 in. (64mm), Inducer, 3.600 in. (91mm) Major

5 in. Inlet and 3.5 in Outlet

Hot Side

1.10 A/R Turbine Housing w/Tangential Scroll

Standard Large-Frame (Thumper) inlet, bolt spacing about 4.5 in. x 2.75 in, V-Band Outlet.

That thing is huge, I wouldn't even try to run it on a street car.

What are the specs on the turbine? My old T78 had a GT series compressor slapped on. It was about 93mm in diameter (exducer). Jason still uses this turbo. Yes, it was a bit laggy, but when it hit, it hit HARD. I'd get serious boost mid 4K range, full boost by 5100.

Another thing to concider aside from only looking at the HUGE compressor exducer.... is the fact that this uses the TA45 LARGE from turbine as well. Whats that meen?? a big *** turbine wheel and the turbine housings are larger then a T4. not only is this a big turbine and larger then T4 tang housing, but its a 1.10 A/R !!!!! In other words, big power extra extra late boost response.

Depends on the port , I would get 5psi boost on a free rev to 7000rpm with one like that but with a 1.22 a/r turbine on my last half bp motor. On load the boost would be at 12psi by4500rpms and thats with a pair of 35mm wastegates opening up (boost controller not connected to them).

Compressor wheel measures closely to a Turbonetics T64.
Not a bad size...
Should do around 500hp at the wheels...

Turbonetics T64
Compressor inducer: 2.490"
Compressor major: 3.670"

S400 is huge. I used to have S300 and its wheels are almost the same as T51. the S300 I could start making boost around 3000 but after 4200 the it would go from around 8psi - 22psi in around 500rpm and held the boost to 8500. and once you shift to the next gear you where dropped right back into the max torq range.

I 1st started with a 1.15 exh housing. but that would not start to spool until 6500+ after find a .83 housing it started spooling around 4k
on the highway 3rd and 4th gear it would break the tires loose on high boost.

here is the comp map for the S300

we made 499rwhp @ 23 psi.

I dont see gettin more than 550 - 560 out of this turbo.

some wheel specs to compair
S300 2.789/3.14
The hks T51 spl is 2.785/3.198
The Greddy t88 is 2.846/3.346
Turbonetics q trim is 2.693/3.111

Are we talking about compressor wheels?

I have 2.984" / 3.986" for compressor side.
The numbers you quoted look like the turbine wheel specs?

The Greddy t88 is 2.846/3.346
That looks like turbine wheels specs also.

Turbonetics q trim is 2.693/3.111
I know that's a turbine wheel.

Depends on the port and the manifold, you could see reasonable boost quicker than you think. it is just a little smaller than a 42R.
