?'s on HKS T51 Turbo Kit

Does anyone have any expierence with this kit and or pics installed. I have this setup up on my '98 Supra and love it. I was able to pull almost 800 RWHP on 27 PSI and love the kit. I'm interested in purchasing a new project car and I think that it will be a 7. I love the lines of them very much and have not owned one yet. If anyone does include spool characteristics, power, lag, ease of install (any serious modifications, structural), ect...I appreciate any and all info that you guys could provide. Hope to be part of your community soon!

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks Greg-

That's not to bad I'm kinda used to that with the Supra. I Extrude Honed the Compressor and Turbine Housing on my T51 and noticed a difference in spool for the better. If you have this and that's what I'm gathering from your responce you should try it its worth every penny. If you do have it could you go into detail a bit on HP figures that you have gotten out of your setup and what other mods would you be running, what PSI, and any other info and pics would be greatly appreciated. Once again thanks for any future info.

Thanks-
Joe

I have never had that but they are similar turbos to the 76 series. I also know someone with one on their FC Now, Im sure you know that 600rwhp in your rx7 is going to feel faster than 800 rwhp on your supra because of weight reasons. If you are willing to make that jump to get extreme horsepower then have a excellent tuner and EMS. If you do a search on "scoot" then you can find out what that turbo combined with the correct port can do to your car. After all, you can have the biggest friggen turbo on the planet and still be *** slow. You are in maryland, The big HP tuners are not far from you

Mva ports
Jrs Rotary Performance
T and R racing

amongst others. you can get as high as 700rwhp from that turbo (possibly higher) The scoot team made 710 rwhp (supposedly) with the T51 and a partial periphial ported engine. Its not all in the turbo as compared to the supras. Its harder to make big numbers from the rotary but when they do they fly. What are you working with now? What parts do you have ? What year car. There is sooo much that goes into making sick hp

I have a T51S that was built by Fastrax turbo... My car starts to build boost from 3000rpm and on the street it reaches full boost before 4500rpm. I run 15-24psi depends on what i am doing, and all I can say is, this is a very good choice... Definetly have 700whp potential.

voodoo-

what if any difference is there between a t51s and a T51KAI from HKS. IFf you don't mind giving me some more details on your setup and HP figures that would be awesome.

thanks for your time - Joe

Also a buddy of mine had them build him a T51s as well for his supra and used a HKS manifold setup kit and put it together himself. The advantage to that is it utilized a standard T04 style flange so there are different a/r's he could switch in and out, but the HKS T51 only comes with 1 option, a 1.0 a/r with V-band clamp. That's a considerably large a/r when working with a 1.3L thats what I'm afraid of. Not sure what to expect? Any input? Thanks a bunch!

A 1.0 A/R isnt that large for a rotary due to the huge exhaust pulses.

... And the fact that it flows the air of a 2.6l. That a/r could be considered very "small" when talking about big power. That turbine I know for a FACT is not a conventional t-series size. It's much bigger.
