Running single, how do i controll boost?

I´m just finished my single installation. And i´m also using Aem ems. But i havent figured out how to controll my boost pressure.

My wg has 2 outputs. Do i run the lower one to the stock solenoid with a white dot one it?

Please help med out here.

Say what? The Aem can handle the boost. I just want to know how to hook it up against the solenoid?!

your stock solenoid, regardless of what is controlling it (stock, aem, haltech) cannot cycle a wastegate fast enough for steady boost

so quit being cheap, and buy a boost controller

Run straight manifold pressure to the side port on the wastegate. Leave the top port open. That will give you spring pressure.

Do you understand the consequences of not controlling your boost precisely?
You might want to read a little more or get someone that really has been around a rotary for a while to help you out.
It will save you a lot of money in the long run. And help to stop tarnish the reputation of how dependable or reliable a rotary engine can be if setup the correct way.

Thumbs up

Could not agree more with you, rotarypower101.
I Know of many blowing engines 3,4 and 5 times and it is always something, that could have been prevented and should have been prevented.
Then they blame the builder, the tuner, the car, but not themself.
Oh well, good luck.

Do what Max said and you will get the MIN amount of boost witch is probably what you want to start out at.

Go to your local GM parts counter, and order a wastegate solenoid for a Turbo t/a they run about $30, and the pigtail is about the same price. The AEM can control your boost with this perfectly. The stock solenoid works well with the AEM when you are on stock turbos, when you go external wastegate, you need a differently designed solenoid to work properly, one with a vent side.

Yes the stock selonoids are designed with the Twins in mind, and the AEM assumes you have twins unless you tell it otherwise... There are a couple of single turbo maps online @ AEM's site, and a couple of Twin Maps. Maybe start e-mailing the owners of those cars !?
