Replacement for GT4094R..Recommendations for T4 turbo for 550-600RWHP

I got an offer for my GT4094R turbo that I dont want to refuse. I will be looking for a replacement turbo but dont want to modify/change my manifold and want a unit with similar output. I don't mind changing brands and prefer non ball bearing.

What do you suggest?

BW recently released an uprated version of their mid size turbo and it would work well for you. i don't know if it has a diff PN but it is very similar to the 177283 which is a 550 (rotary) hp turbo.

with two big upgrades:

a BW designed billet compressor wheel

a significantly uprated bearing system.

get it w the 3 inch rear V band. ask advice as to the A/R sizing as it depends on the app.

i have the developmental compressor map on the wheel. factoring in that it stops at 64% efficiency and the Garrett goes to 60%... the new 177283 w the billet (FMW) wheel should do 596 max at 60% which is similar to max 4094 output.

the BW has a 6.31 area turbine and your 4094 has a 6.423.

4094r comp wheel is 8.175 sq inches, BW is 7.0 and makes very close to the same flow.

T4 back end so it should fit on your manifold and you may or may not need to mod your DP a tad.

while that is a nice looking turbo it is more of a GT35 competitor w a 6.43 area compressor and 72 pounds per minute output. it is probably capable of around 540 but it would be busting it's butt at that power level.

the turbo i am suggesting for a 550+ app is not currently on the site. it is a 7 sq inch compressor but uprated to the BW design Billet (FMW) compressor wheel and stronger bearing system.

it is very close sizewise to the 177283 model.

How does this turbo's compressor compare to the 4094R in physical size. Like you, my manifold locates the turbo beside the motor not in front.

Why are you selling a turbo that can already meet your goals? I have a s400 67mm new in box for $1100? Should make 650+. But it's much larger than the gt4094r.

Maybe Geoff will let me trade it in at a loss for a 80mm unit?

Have a few questions about the TO4Z turbo. Is it popular with the rotary and how does it compare to the 4094R in regards to phsycal size and output? Also is it availabe in twin scroll and journal bearing?

Super out-dated turbo. You would be better off with our TDX67R. Its basically the same thing with a new era billet compressor wheel.

Nice! Can't wait to see what will be available. I would love to do a same day back to back dyno comparison from my S366 to a newer similarly sized FMW turbo.

What results have you got with this turbo?

more interested in MPH times etc rather than HP figures.

I fixed an issue which i even opened a thread about the car not putting the MPH for the power it had. Turned out to be a line from my electronic boost controller, it was smashed/toasted under the UIM. Car is now spooling super fast, 124MPH at the end of the track with 458whp on street tires.

Waiting to save some money to hit the dyno again to see what she'll do on 22psi of boost.

Fair enough. Our Dyno's here in Australia read very differently to you.
For E.G I tuned a car that made 346rwhp that has run consistent 128mph.
