Relocating wastgate actuating line- less lag??

Just wondering... the stock wastegate line is right off of the compressor...
I've got a big FMIC.... and I get a good chunk of turbo lag. It's shoots up to about 5 lbs quickly, then there is a little pause before it shoots up to 8-12 (depending on the gear) That's because it's creeping (fine with me).
That pause is what I'm trying to get rid of.

Since there is probably a 1.5 psi pressure drop after the IC, and also a bit of a lag while the pipes pressurize, wouldn't it be better to run the wastegate line from the intake manifold instead?? (Or at least somewhere after the IC) This would keep the wastegate closed for a little bit longer, and the boost would build up quicker before it opens, and starts bleeding off.
What about putting a little "pill" in the line- like the boost sensor orafice. (ya ya... I know, just get a manual boost controller instead... I will)

Good idea? or not.....

I am getting a manual boost controller soon too, not to increase my max boost, but if I set it to 10 psi, it'll get there a lot quicker....by delaying the wastegate opening.

Make sure not to pick up the boost signal between the throttle body and the engine. That would suck the wastegate shut when you let off the gas. Kind of a reverse-BOV. Blow-Up Valve! Get the signal between the turbo and the throttle body.

Holy damn... I wouldn't have even thought of that.... good call!
I'll probably just tap into any spot along the upper IC pipe to the TB.....

Max,

Won't most all electronic (and some manual) boost controllers do just that? They receive boost signal from the intake manifold (post TB) and when they see no boost, they will immediately close the wastegate to try to generate some. Why is this any different?

If u tap in just before TB, with direct actuator control, usually will get some overshoot and boost pulsing. Did it on another turbo.

Consider simple relief type MBC off compressor. dawesdevices.com. good match with single.

alan ... elec controllers often measure boost at manifold, but have separate hose from sol valve to compressor and wg actuator.
