to rebuild or not to rebuild

i am getting a t-78. i have a stock ported motor. Should i rebuild it now and street port it or what kind of port should i get. i have a reman with 10k miles on it and on the last compression it was i think 8's and 9's across the board. or should i wait till she blows. k

with a t78, wouldn't you want to shift the powerband up a little so that you can rev higher and basically have full boost longer?

not that there is anything wrong with the motor, but i would think at least a street port would be ideal.
