RacingBeat Full turbo exaust too restrictive??

Im going full T04 turbo. I know that i need a custom DP but i also heard that the RacingBeat full turbo exaust being too restrictive??..How is that??..DP to catalytic is 3" and Y pipe to muller is 2 1/4". Is it necessary to have 3" all the way exaust system when going bigger turbo???..

If its too restrictive can i just have a muffler shop make the Ypipe 3"???

I have that system on my car with a custome downpipe, and my car runs very well.

DriftKing- Do you have a big turbo with the racingBeat full exaust?

13BACE- Do you throw flames with your setup?..

I throw flames everywhere, from the exhaust and from my wastegate. Probably even more from some of my exhaust leaks.

I witnessed 18" flames from my exhaust while waynespeed was revving my car like crazy in my driveway at 11 PM, and people have told me my car was blowing 1-2 ft. flames while I was driving.

I'm ditching mine... you wanna buy it? I'm going to sell it... and I'm considering selling the downpipe that fits up to it as well... but I'm not sure on that part just yet.

I think that it is a bit too restrictive... but is a good balance between power and practicality... I'm bailing on it in favor of a straight through 3" custom setup.

You're going with a turbo upgrade right? If so then the RB downpipe probably won't work well unless you either hack it up pretty well or build your manifold around the downpipe. The RB downpipe only fits with the turbo down low like stock. When you have the turbo sit higher like on most manifolds the DP bangs the firewall. I tried to use mine, but it was a waste of time to make it work. It was easier to just buy a few 3" pipes and sell the RB downpipe.

I have the RB 3" turbo back system on my car (sans the downpipe) with my 60-1. It has been on there all summer. It is a totally custom downpipe. I know what you mean though...

I am upgrading my manifold to a divided setup and will require massive modification to the custom downpipe to work in my car. I'm not sure if I"m going to modify the downpipe or build a new one.

If you have the manifold set the turbo in a similar spot it should be ok, but I'm guessing you're not doing that.

Nope At least that isn't the plan right now...

Right now i have the HKS cast manifold that sets the turbo up and towards the front. I'm trying to figure out if this will work: manifold that has 2 straight, or almost straight pipes, one out of each exhaust port, moving the turbo back a bit... and improving exhaust flow from the engine to the turbo.

I thought about doing the same thing, but I got lazy and used an HKS cast manifold. If you decide to get rid of that manifold let me know. I'll take it from you.

If you get bigger secondary injectors with your stock ECU you should get flames. I have 4 1600's. So when I let off there's always extra fuel. My friend said that I probably waste enough gas in flames to run my 81 Tercel.
