Unhappy Racing Cat or Straight Pipe?

Hi,

Just out of curiousity, how many of you has single turbo with racing cat instead of straight pipe?

I just got my got back from XS and I'm debating if I should take out the cat.

Here's my settings
ASPEC GT3574 long runner turbo (Ceramic coated)
ASPEC Fuel System (850 primary 1680 secondary)
Rebuilted Engine w/ new rotors and housing
Street Ported
HKS SSBOV
ARC Intercooler
Koyo Radiator
Racing Plugs
Random Tech Hi-Flow Cat
Racing Beat Single Tip Exhaust

Right now I'm getting 360whp and roughly 286 lb ft of tq @ 1 bar. I guess I'm debating if its worth the risk to take out the cat? I really want more tq.

For those with straight pipe, is your car really streetable? I'm just tired of getting harrassed by the California cops.

What kind of dyno was this, andcan youpostthe graph? Those #'s seem a bittoo low.

As far as a straight pipe being streatable, Sure it is. your car won't exactlysmell like flowers but It's not too bad. But if you already have alot of cop trouble it may not be worth the hassell.

Those numbers are low, but probably due to the cat. I would go with a resonated midpipe.

If you are tired of being harassed by the California cops then why are you even asking this?

Nothing good will come of removing the cat and putting a mid pipe in if you live in California and already have problems with the cops. Sure you will get some more power, but the added headache might not be worth it.

I really feel for you guys that have to deal with the California smog laws.

Those numbers are definitely low for that setup. We see those numbers around 13psi on a stock motor.

It's tuned by XS Engineering. I know they're more on the conservative side, but the tq is WAY TO LOW.

What kind of setup and numbers do you have?

Get a magnaflow res midpipe. It will actually be quieter than high flow cat. If you get pulled over for something, just shut off the car before they get a chance to smell your exhaust.
